Health & Wellbeing Tips
After working 30 years in healthcare in a variety of settings, including 20 years public health, the small steady changes and simple tips are the best! You cannot perform on an empty or low battery so its false economy skipping these steps because of work or other excuses. You have to put yourself love/ wellbeing first in order to serve others or your children so it’s not selfish.
Wellbeing action plan
2-3 litres of water daily (colour of urine is feedback & should be pale straw colour)
Balanced diet of carbs, fats and proteins and a little bit of what you like does you good. Listen to your body and MOT like a car. You’re worth it!
Keto diet can be excellent for brain cancers and epilepsy.
Regular exercise whatever shape that resonates with you that you enjoy as it should not feel like a punishment. Dance, walk in nature, mini rebounder yoga, etc….Mix it up and get support/inspiration when it starts to get boring or your feeling demotivated. Little & often is better & micro breaks & stretching essential to prevent lactic acid tension build up in muscles & soft tissue. Good posture when sitting at desks & chairs.
Rest is essential so take time to meditate & breathe deeply. Make use of free guided you tube meditations if needed, breath focus or white noise background to get you into the space of slowing the mind and thoughts & getting in touch with your inner sat nav. It’s all about short regular practice and not perfection so let go of expectation.
Mindfulness throughout the day is also a useful tool.
Supplement with Magnesium, Vit B, turmeric with bioperine.
Minimal vitamins as stated above should be enough aiming to reduce pharmaceutical tablets as most are sticking plasters & create side effects. No need for endless pill popping.
Consider micro dosing psilocybin (around 2 months) for mental health improvement or conditions. Now being supported by mental health professionals. See Ted talks.
Consider low dose naltrexone (www.ldntrust.org) for MOST autoimmune conditions. Safe & well tested with none/minimal side effects. Many positive testimonials for fibro, MS, etc… If GP won’t prescribe then cheap private prescription from Dickson’s pharmacy Glasgow Scotland(less than £30 monthly) Ships worldwide. Good face book support group if any teething problems.
Sleep is essential & fundamental so practice good sleep hygiene
Aim for bowels to open regularly. Increase fluids/fibre.
Body symptoms are warning signals like your car dashboard so tablets are only short term plasters.
Don’t get stuck with a diagnosis label as lifestyle changes will provide a better quality of life. You might be living longer but from what I saw most people are pill popping and accepting/being passive with their health.
Your health is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY and not your GP’s or Specialist. Avoid colluding with the system and hiding behind a health condition to avoid fully living.
Your subconscious is telling you something when you get physical symptoms so also consider hypnotherapy or NLP techniques to shift symptoms and make small steady changes as this will help speed up the process and reduce frustration and possibly unnecessary surgery and endless tests, waiting lists and investigations. Take charge and be the captain of your own ship. Your inner voice will guide the solutions so take time out to listen to it.
Good luck and be gentle with yourself
